With Arlington Magazine, TRC has created a new reading initiative, Arlington Kids Read. Its goal is to promote reading for Arlington kids and families and to raise funds to support ongoing reading programs for at-risk kids.
This spring, Arlington Kids Read held its third Community Reading Festival on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Attendees enjoyed a wonderful afternoon celebrating family reading with bilingual read-alouds, crafts and snacks. They also got the chance to meet Clifford, the Big Red Dog.
Children heard stories read by Senator Adam Ebbin, Desiree Fairooz from the Arlington County Library, Maria Greene from Hola Baby and State Delegate Alfonso Lopez.
