Westover Beer Garden & Haus

With its outdoor fire pit and twinkling lights, Westover Beer Garden works its magic. Just don’t ask the bartender which bottled beers are available. At any one time, there are 16 microbrews to choose from—all tapped from kegs. “Beers are fresher in draft form,” explains manager Devin Hicks (although he does stock more than 1,000 bottled and canned beers in his family’s adjoining Westover Market for off-premise consumption).

“Most of us come for the beer rotation,” says Westover resident Myles McMorrow. “Every time you come in, it’s something different.” Out of the ordinary also describes a big seller on the food menu: the Butcher’s Wild Burger, which may be kangaroo one day, elk the next, or even yak. –W.N.
