Unique Thrift

Long before the Mosaic District took Merrifield by storm, budget-savvy shoppers and enterprising DIY types were flocking to Unique Thrift, located one block south in a strip mall on Gallows Road. You never know what you might discover in this department-store-sized secondhand emporium, which sells everything from recycled Halloween costumes and kitschy housewares to name-brand used clothing (you’ll find Banana Republic, Ann Taylor and—if you’re lucky—the occasional vintage dress by Diane von Furstenberg), along with bizarre retail overstock items like Styrofoam mannequin heads.
