“Look Good, Feel Better” at Virginia Hospital Center
Women’s fashion magazines typically don’t include tips on how to use an eyebrow pencil to fill in brows that have thinned from chemo treatments. Or concealer tricks for hiding changes in skin tone caused by radiation. But the “Look Good, Feel Better” workshop at Virginia Hospital Center does. It also offers free makeovers to cancer patients and fashion advice on topics such as how to accessorize with scarves, or choose the right wig. The workshop is part of a series—which also includes classes on tai chi, yoga, nutrition, exercise and stress management—that recognizes self-esteem as an important part of the healing process.
