The Artisans

“We promote local artists as much as possible. That’s how we started 25 years ago,” says Shannon Lee Denny, whose store is a love letter to the creative spirit in all of us. Denny, a goldsmith, and her business partner, Judith Leary Harkins (“she does everything—creates masks, sews, makes jewelry!” Denny says), showcase whimsical, handmade artwork and gifts from a cache of hundreds of vendors, including about 100 local artisans. “Most of our things are truly limited edition if not one-of-a-kind,” Denny adds. “Our customers know to buy whatever catches their eye when they see it, because it probably won’t be here when they come back.”
