The Buzz Hounds
Guitarist Billy Fuller and drummer Jeff Urbancic were watching their sons play an Arlington Babe Ruth baseball game when they decided to form a band in 2012. A year later, bandmate John Brandt left Arlington to sail the Caribbean and the founders recruited guitarist Brent Baxter, a Yorktown High School grad who had previously played with a group called The Swingers. Still, Urbancic says the band’s trademark “acoustic sound with a bit of a bite” wasn’t fully formed until the addition of bass guitarist Drew Pathwick. You can catch The Buzz Hounds often at charity events and block parties in Arlington, but the venue they love most is Westover Beer Garden. And their favorite song to perform? Blue Oyster Cult’s “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper.” Bring on the cowbell. –Lisa Rabasca Roepe
