In 2012, brothers Jay and Tim Lo Monaco bought Paul’s Best Lawn Service, the company founded by their father, a hopeless romantic. As Jay tells the story, Paul was living in Canada when he met their mom: “He moved from Toronto to Virginia with everything he owned on the back of a motorcycle, and built the business up from literally nothing.” Honoring their father’s personalized approach, their new goal is to talk with all 1,200 of their customers, “making sure we have a high-touch type of business,” Jay says.
Paul’s Best is a full-service grounds maintenance company offering mowing, leaf removal, mulching and trimming. But the company is also evolving with the times. “We don’t use chemicals that are linked to the decline of the bee population,” Jay says. “We use some greener technologies.”
