Revolution Cycles is on a mission: to get more butts on bikes. “We believe in bikes for everyone,” says operations manager Katie Knight. “You don’t have to be one type of rider.” That’s why the Clarendon shop and its sister stores in the D.C. area sponsor a variety of community rides, from the 5-mile, family-friendly spooky ride (which winds through Arlington neighborhoods for a tour of the best Halloween decorations) to 30-mile Sunday morning summer rides for gearheads craving some distance. “We are all about community,” says Knight, whose own daily morning commute is a 20-mile pedal from her home in Fairfax. The shop partners with BikeArlington, supports the Air Force Association Cycling Classic Clarendon Cup and, from April to October, sponsors random monthly pop-up bike tune-ups (with doughnuts and coffee) along bike trails in Arlington and D.C. The pop-ups are announced on Facebook and Twitter.
