Falls Church neighbors Julie Liu and Holly Manon first bonded over their shared love of gardening and their affinity for native plants, which are better for the environment and support a pollinator system. Now, from their pink-clapboard shop on West Broad Street, the nature lovers are helping customers make their own thumbs (and homes) a little greener. An in-store retail section showcases handmade, local goods and rustic garden accessories, while workshops offer hands-on horticultural advice with take-home results. But it’s Botanologica’s custom-designed container gardens and seasonal installations of greenery and flora that are its stock-in-trade.
