Best of Arlington 2018
CD Cellar
Best Vinyl Collection
Those who would sound the death knell for record stores may want to hold that thought. Yes, CD Cellar closed its Arlington location in 2016 and downsized its Falls Church digs, moving to a smaller, 2,500-square-foot storefront on Park Avenue. But it’s still rocking steady. A local fixture for more than a quarter century, the shop still carries CDs (and, more recently, high-end audio equipment, music-themed books and vintage rock T-shirts), and it’s currently riding high on the wave of the vinyl resurgence. With at least 15,000 LPs in stock at any given time, it’s almost certain to have what you’re looking for, be it a rare, unpeeled copy of The Velvet Underground & Nico or the umpteenth near-mint Whipped Cream & Other Delights by Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass.
