How do you measure success?
Personal success for me has come from pushing myself beyond my own perceived limits. There are many factors we can’t control, and we can’t control the actions of others. But I’ve found that when I focus on the challenge or task at hand and go above and beyond, then success seems to fall into place.
What changes or innovations are on the horizon in your industry? How are you preparing for them?
Technology is going to continue to play a key role in single and multi-family construction. From the research technology needed to accurately assess a project to the virtual reality used to sell it before construction even begins, resources are advancing so rapidly that we have a full-time research expert dedicated to data analysis and trending industry products.
What was a major turning point in your life and/or career?
It was definitely joining Ron Smith and Marty Schnider as a partner at Smith | Schnider. We have taken our years of industry experience and brought it to the next level with an incredibly talented team. I’m most proud of the level of pride and dedication everyone puts into their work. It’s been a deeply rewarding time for me in my career. What do you love most about doing business in this area? The D.C. metro area is unlike any other real estate market in the country. Working in three jurisdictions, all with such distinctively different communities, styles of homes and offerings, is exciting and challenging all at the same time. I’m continually learning in this business and making sure I provide the level of expertise to our clients so that together we can meet the needs of local residents.
