What do you love most about doing business in this area?
The diversity. Working with students of all levels and backgrounds has taught me how to accommodate the unique needs of diverse individuals. Getting to know each family personally, I’ve become integrated within a tight-knit community whose trust and support of my award-winning small business allows me to enhance the learning experience of its students—from early learning to college preparation. We’re changing lives, and when success stories are shared with friends and teachers, we look forward to helping them, too.
What do you look forward to when you go to work every day?
Witnessing the excitement of my students and staff as they turn out victories—there’s no better feeling! It’s an honor to know my mentorship contributed to their excitement and success. And, living up to our reputation: We’re consistently voted ‘Best Tutoring Service,’ ‘Best SAT/ACT Program,’ and a ‘Top Enrichment Program,’ by readers of Arlington, Northern Virginia and Washington Family magazines.
What are your top priorities?
Ensuring we’re delivering on our core values, that employees are happy and growing, and students are meeting (and exceeding!) their goals. When students master subjects with which they previously struggled or score within the 99th percentile on their SATs after prepping with us, we know our priorities are in the right place and our collaborative efforts are working.
What advice would you offer to women who are just starting out?
Trust in your ability to succeed. By nature, women tend to possess more self-doubt than men, which inhibits them from being the leaders they’re capable of becoming. Trust the strengths and passions that have led you to where you are. I encourage women—as I do my students and staff—to strive for excellence.
