If Mom is an indie-rock-loving Matthew Sweet fan, she won’t want to miss Signature’s DC premiere of Girlfriend, a coming-of-age musical featuring music and lyrics by the alt-rock artist (and based on a book by Todd Almond). Set in small-town Nebraska in 1993, it’s a tale of first love, set to the soundtrack of the artist’s iconic debut album.
