“Shy hot” chicken tenders at Hot Lola’s
The chicken here (a hybrid of Sichuan and Nashville hot chicken) is available in several degrees of spiciness. If you’re relatively heat averse, go for the not-too-spicy “shy hot” tenders ($8.50). You’ll get the dish’s chili oil, peppercorns, cumin and star anise without burning down the house. Slaw, pickles and toast are included.
