Holiday cheer making you want to do a twirl? Take a spin at the new ice rink at Capital One Center in Tysons.
The pop-up rink opens Dec. 4 and will remain open daily through Feb. 28, 2026. It’s part of the mixed-use development’s new Metro Park, a year-round recreational plaza to be anchored by the Capital One Center Skating Rink in the winter, and alternately by pickleball courts the other three seasons.
“Capital One Center is thrilled to open Metro Park…and offer more community amenities at our growing arts and entertainment center,” Erin Mical, vice president of Capital One, said in a press release. “The new connection with the McLean Metro station and ice rink complements nearby venues Capital One Hall, The Perch, The Watermark Hotel, Capital One Park and Capital One East Park, allowing us to curate unique experiences.”
(The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Northern Virginia Transportation Commission and Fairfax County recently opened a new entrance and pedestrian path connecting the McLean Metro station to the Capital One Center.)
Measuring 9,000 square feet, the rink is one of the largest open-air, synthetic rinks in the area. Skate rentals are available, and the rink can be rented for private parties. Currently, it doesn’t offer lessons.
A 40-foot LED holiday tree and elevated deck round out the new park’s festive feel as holiday season enters full swing.
Tickets are $16 for adults; $14 for kids 12 and under, seniors, and Capital One employees; and $13 per person for groups of 10 or more. The rink does not accept reservations, and there’s no time limit for how long you can skate.
Metro Park is located at 1820 Capital One Drive, Tysons.
