Pickleball at Capital One Center
Get to dinking at the four pickleball courts that opened this month at Capital One Center’s Metro Park. The regulation-size courts are free to use from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. daily, through November, but players must register. Bring your own paddles, balls and water bottles. Prefer to watch? Falls Church Fitness Challenge
Prioritize your health all monthlong by participating in the Little City’s big activity. Now through April 30, complete mini challenges on the bingo-like Fitness Challenge Passport to win prizes. Knock out six of them and you’ll get a car magnet. Complete 32 to win a tote bag. The City of Falls Church is making it easy to get those stamps, with plenty of free fitness pop-up classes. Plus, on April 11, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., there’s a full-day movement event at Founders Row (110 Founders Ave., Falls Church) with classes including Zumba, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), Pilates, barre and mobility. Sunday Wellness Series at Water Park
Stave off the Sunday scaries with the Sunday Reset, a recurring outdoor wellness series in National Landing’s Water Park. Onelife Fitness instructors will lead weekly sessions focusing on mindful movement at 8 a.m. Each free class is 45-60 minutes and tailored to participants of all experience and ability levels. On Sundays from April 12-May 17, 2-3 p.m., National Landing and DC Fray will host a series of free, instructor-led classes designed for participants of all fitness and experience levels. Kick off the series on April 12 with Power Yoga from CorePower Yoga, then do a Stretch and Mobility class with District Stretch on April 26 and Barre with Barre by Bri on May 17. Outdoor Yoga and Body Weight Bootcamp Series at The Boro
Yoga instructor Julia Solomon will lead a classic power flow for yogis of all abilities on select Wednesdays from April-November. The next one is April 29, 6-6:45 p.m. On select Saturdays from May-November, break a sweat with instructors from Outrun Gravity, who will lead bootcamp-style workouts. DC Capital Striders Running Group
Put your best foot forward with this running group for pavement-pounders of all levels. On Mondays at 6 p.m., meet at Cherrydale United Methodist Church to navigate a mix of road and trail. Each week’s pace and distance will be adjusted to match those in attendance.
