Hotel Burg

Located about an hour from Arlington, this newly opened boutique hotel occupies a revamped house dating to 1885. The aesthetic of the 39-room property is a modern homage to Virginia wine country with Ralph Lauren-inspired touches. The lobby features a floor-to-ceiling sepia-toned mural of Virginia’s pastoral landscape, plus antique brass chandeliers. It’s there that you’ll find live music Aug. 30, 4-7 p.m. Enjoy free transportation to nearby wineries, golf courses and hiking trails within a 10-mile radius. On Aug. 19, the hotel announced the opening of The Huntōn, a dinner-only restaurant serving dishes such as hush puppies with smoked trout roe, duck leg tacos and venison tartare. Other onsite dining options include The Diana Lounge, an all-day café named after the Roman goddess of the hunt, which serves sandwiches, burgers and cocktails. Through Oct. 31, the hotel is offering 12% off your stay and two free drinks. Stay two nights and get the third free through Oct. 5, including Labor Day weekend. 208 S. King St., Leesburg

Sad to see summer’s end? You can eat your feelings with waterside events at this dog-friendly luxe resort about 90 minutes away. Start with a spread of Champagne and Oysters Aug. 29, dig into the Tacos and Margarita Bar on Aug. 30, and close out the holiday—and the season—with small bites and live music at the Beer and Wine Bar on Aug. 31. During your stay you can also chill out with a yoga or meditation session, get creative in a sip-and-paint class, or walk in the gardens. Looking for more action? Take a guided kayak or bike tour, or channel the spirit of Samuel Hambleton, the Navy officer who built the home-turned-inn in 1819, by taking a sailboat out on the Chesapeake Bay. Golfers can tee off at Links at Perry Cabin. 308 Watkins Lane, St. Michaels, Maryland
