At the clinic, Dr. Saira Bilal is a distinguished, board-certified physician in rheumatology recognized for her depth of expertise and commitment to patient-centered care. With more than 20 years of experience spanning clinical practice, research and medical education, Dr. Bilal brings a comprehensive and thoughtful approach to the management of complex rheumatologic conditions. She earned her medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Pakistan, followed by an internal medicine residency at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. She completed her rheumatology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, where she served as chief fellow.
Dr. Bilal has held notable academic appointments, including instructor of medicine at Washington University in St. Louis and assistant professor of rheumatology at George Washington University, where she trained fellows, residents and medical students while contributing to key institutional committees. A published author and active participant in clinical trials, she remains engaged in advancing the field.
Her clinical interests include rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriatic arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and Sjogren’s syndrome. She also specializes in musculoskeletal ultrasound and holds certification from the American College of Rheumatology.
