Now heading into its 29th year, this spirited block party draws serious musical talent (D.C.’s award-winning funk-soul group Everyday Everybody was the 2025 headliner). But the annual event celebrates more than great music. It also showcases the cultural richness and diversity of life along the Pike, says Andrew Schneider, executive director of the Columbia Pike Partnership, with games, music, dancing and foods ranging from empanadas and doughnuts to kabobs. As the 15-year construction project on Columbia Pike finally reaches an end, the 2026 festival, to be held June 13, will be a big part of a celebratory “welcome back.” –Madelyn Rosenberg
