How can an attorney help my business succeed?
Business owners are focused on creating and growing their businesses. Our firm partners with business owners to reduce risk when businesses are starting, adding or removing partners, hiring employees, contracting with suppliers or customers, buying or leasing real estate, or entering into a franchise. As a transactional attorney, my job is to help your business succeed while ensuring that the business and its owners are treated fairly in each deal. In a commercial lease, for example, the initial documents are often overly favorable for the landlord, so I work with our business clients to negotiate these agreements until the remaining risks are palatable.

When our firm helps clients buy or sell a business, I prepare the sales contract, assist with due diligence and coordinate with third parties. I make sure our client is protected from risk, or at least knows which risks they are assuming, and ensure that the transaction goes as smoothly as possible.

Why is it important to establish a relationship with a business attorney?
My partners and I work directly with our clients, learning about their businesses and their personal affairs. When a regular client needs legal assistance, we already have the knowledge of how their business works and can quickly respond to requests without having to get up to speed. Many of our business clients have been with the firm for five to ten years, creating a true partnership between the attorney and client.
