Q: What changes have you seen for women in business over your career?
A: Early in my career, at BBC Television Centre in London back in the 2000s, women were often positioned as rivals. Today, I see a much stronger sense of camaraderie and collaboration among women in production. We’re more focused on lifting each other up and doing great work together. I’ve met some incredible women along the way—many of our clients are strong, passionate women who I admire—and I’m committed to carrying that forward at Striking Media. We welcome interns each year, often from NOVA Community College, to give young people hands-on experience in production. Supporting the next generation feels like a natural extension of that shift.
Q: What motivates and inspires you in your work today?
A: I love my job and couldn’t imagine doing anything else! I’m inspired by the people who trust us to tell their stories, and the events and causes we help bring to life. I’m also raising two teenage daughters, and being a positive role model for them is very important to me. My heart soars whenever my family tells me how proud they are of me.
Q: What sets Striking Media apart in a crowded, tech-driven landscape?
A: The thoughtfulness with which we approach each project. Every client, every story and every audience is different, and we spend a lot of time thinking about our characters, narratives, visuals and what will truly resonate. Our clients know we’ll tell their stories with care and integrity, never in an exploitative way. Technology can’t replace genuine human connection.
