Q: Why do you do what you do?
A: Opening Tutoring Club of McLean nearly 17 years ago deepened my understanding of education. I quickly saw firsthand that lasting success starts with understanding each person. Every student learns differently, every family has unique goals and every challenge deserves an individualized approach. It’s a privilege to watch students overcome challenges they once thought insurmountable, whether that’s learning to read confidently, mastering algebra or reaching a college admissions goal. Seeing their confidence grow is incredibly rewarding, as is the pride on a parent’s face. It’s a reminder that education can positively change an entire family, and why I chose this path.

A: Artificial intelligence is transforming education, but it can’t replace great teaching. As information becomes easier to access, students need more than answers—they need to think critically, communicate effectively and solve problems with confidence and independence. We help students learn to use emerging technologies as tools—not shortcuts—while prioritizing personal responsibility, human connection and genuine understanding.
