The Confident Undergrad

Q: Why do you do what you do? What motivates and inspires you?

A: I began my career 30 years ago as a college professor, and my greatest joy in that role was in the classroom. It was immensely gratifying to teach students how to examine the world critically, to understand complex challenges and find workable solutions. It’s not an accident that—despite a few twists and turns in my life and career—I always return to supporting college students. Now, as a coach, I teach young adults to apply similar tools to challenges in their lives, supporting discovery of solutions that align with their values and goals. There is nothing more motivating or inspiring than the lightbulb moments that mark growth in self-confidence and resilience.
