Just in time for Valentine’s Day, The National Chamber Ensemble presents classical music of the Romantic period, when compositions became increasingly expressive and inventive. The genre is marked by expansive symphonies, virtuosic solo instrumental music, dramatic operas and passionate songs inspired by works of art and literature. This concert features works by Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Brahms, Saint-Saens and Dvorak. A reception will follow the performance. Tickets $18-$36.
