Guide to Summer Farmers Markets
Where and when to find local goods, plus everything new this year.
The heat is on and you know what that means: it’s farmers market season. Happily, our area offers a host of diverse market, with products ranging from hand-carved soaps and enticing baked goods to home-grown produce, pickled veggies, artisanal cheeses, craft beverages and more. Below we outline where and when each market will be setting up shop throughout the summer, plus the vendors (both new and returning) you can expect to hit the streets.
This year-round market celebrates its 7th year of operation with vendors selling everything from German sausages, New Zealand “kiwi” pies, olive oils and more. New this year is Abitas, an authentic Mexican restaurant from Falls Church that sells a variety of tamales, salsas and homemade popsicles; Mormor Crepes, whose savory and sweet crepes are based on original family recipes; Cold Pantry Foods with “take & go” frozen pizzas; and Ozfeka Catering, specializing in authentic Turkish foods and fan-favorite baklava.
