Don’t swing by this daytime cafe expecting a latte to go. Created to feel European in every which way, from the gingerbread millwork to the kerchief-wearing staff, the latest concept from Pupatella owners Enzo and Anastasiya Algarme is intended as a place to sit and take a load off. Espresso drinks are served in pretty porcelain tea cups with nary a paper cup in sight, and the eclectic décor will leave you wondering if you’ve teleported to the Norman countryside or somewhere high in the Swiss Alps. The kitchen’s signature crepes range from sweet to savory (try the rustic galette made with buckwheat batter, ham, Emmenthaler, Gruyere and a sunny-side-up egg). A small cocktail menu further encourages partaking in la dolce vita. Coming this winter to take the cozy factor up another notch: traditional cheese fondue. –Jenny Sullivan
