It’s Prom Season! For Moms, Too!

On March 24, moms got the night off at Arlington’s first annual Mom Prom, an evening of music, food and massages at Clarendon Ballroom that served as a fundraiser for the Greater DC Diaper Bank and Second Story for Young Mothers, a nonprofit providing residential and support services to minors who are pregnant or parenting. “Women give so much of themselves to other people,” says co-organizer Jessica Winesett (seen here crowning prom queen Melanie McCleery). “We wanted to create an event where they could have a great time, let loose and feel pampered.”
