Spring Community Reading Festival

End-of-school-year event encourages kids to read this summer

The Reading Connection’s first annual Community Read-a-Thon took place on May 12 at the Arlington Central Library, featuring spring-themed crafts, food and guest readers such as children’s book author Jacqueline Jules, meteorologist Adam Caskey and storyteller Mariela Aguilar.

Sponsored by “Arlington Kids Read,” an initiative of The Reading Connection and Arlington Magazine, the free event will be repeated this fall on Sept. 29 from 1-3 p.m. at Patrick Henry Elementary, in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Mark your calendars!
