Stylish Patina’s Mosaic Pop-Up Now Permanent

The Falls Church home goods and furniture rehab shop has a spin-off location.

If you were dismayed when vintage-furniture rehab maven Kelly Millspaugh Thompson closed her Rough Luxe warehouse last year, fret not. Her flagship store, Stylish Patina, is still going strong in Falls Church City, and the Rough Luxe concept has essentially been reincarnated in a new location.

What started as a pop-up shop in the Mosaic District in late 2016 is now permanent. The spinoff (also called Stylish Patina) looks similar to its sister store, featuring specialty furniture paints, plus gifts and accessories for people, pets and home. But it’s also “heavier on vintage furniture—both hand-painted and factory-finished—and higher-end home décor, like mirrors and lighting,” Millspaugh Thompson says.

The Mosaic location now hosts the majority of Stylish Patina’s DIY classes, from hands-on chalk paint tutorials to lessons on brush lettering and calligraphy. It also houses a custom design studio, where experts can take your sentimental hand-me-down dresser or flea-market chair and freshen it up with new paint, upholstery and hardware.
