Clarendon Crossing is getting a new eatery. Westville, a New York City restaurant chain known for its vegetable-forward menu and laid-back atmosphere, is opening its first location outside of New York on July 14.
Westville’s founders are hoping the 4,000 square-foot space with indoor and outdoor seating will become a neighborhood fixture. The restaurant describes its space as “unfussy” and “welcoming.”

“Westville offers home-style cooking away from home, where people come to eat well and linger like they would at a friend’s kitchen table,” says founder Jay Strauss, who launched the concept in 2003. “Every location is shaped by its distinct community and we’re excited to become part of the dynamic Clarendon neighborhood and the impressive DMV food scene.”
Emphasizing locally sourced ingredients and build-your-own combinations, the casual cafe serves up to 21 market vegetables daily, with sides such as green beans with soy glaze, pesto mashed potatoes and asparagus with parmesan. Mains range from fresh salads and chargrilled burgers to smoky mac n’ cheese or veggie chili.

Desserts include a gluten-free chocolate molten cake, carrot cake and apple pie.
The eatery will serve lunch, dinner and brunch. The drink menu features both coffee and rotating seasonal cocktails, along with a selection of local beer and wine. Here, the taps will be pouring regional brews from Union Craft Brewing in Maryland and Virginia’s Hardywood Park Craft Brewery and Three Notch’d Brewing. Virginia-made wines include Barboursville Vineyards’ Chardonnay.

Seasonal summer cocktails include a Prosecco Mint Lemonade, Strawberry Aperol Spritz and zero-proof Carrot Ginger Shrub.
Westville, located at 2800 Clarendon Boulevard, is now open for lunch and dinner service.
