The Death Trail

Fridays & Saturdays, 7-11 p.m. through Nov. 2; Oct. 31, 7-10 p.m.

This haunted attraction has an unlikely organizer: Montclair Tabernacle Church of God. In 2009, the church decided to convert its 13 acres, seven of which weren’t developed, into a terrifying, 30- to 40-minute walking trail dotted with green army tents. Each tent depicts a different horrifying scene—from creepy clowns to zombies—thanks to more than 70 actors. At the end of the experience, “Each participant … is given a very short explanation of what they saw and then a message of how their life can be transformed from darkness to light.” For something a little less spooky, Sunday, Oct. 27 from 6:30-9 p.m. is Kids Night, where there will be a bounce house and candy for children 11 and under. // 16120 Dumfries Road, Dumfries
