Dan Tyminski Bluegrass Band

When: Nov. 22, 9 p.m.

Where: The State Theatre, 220 N. Washington St., Falls Church

Dan Tyminski, a longtime Alison Krauss collaborator and George Clooney’s singing voice in O Brother, Where Art Thou?, comes to The State Theatre with a merry band of bluegrass troubadours. $23-$25.

The French Connection

When: Nov. 23, 7:30 p.m.

Where: The Falls Church Episcopal, 166 E. Broad St., Falls Church

“The French Connection” features works by famed French composers Gabriel Fauré and Charles Gounod (known for his soaring “Ave Maria”). A free reception with refreshments follows the performance. $15-$20 (free for attendees 18 and under).

Jennifer Bush-Lawson 5K & Family Fun Day

When: Nov. 23, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Where: Knights of Columbus, 5115 Little Falls Road, Arlington

This fifth annual fundraiser includes a certified 5K course (open to adults and youth) and kids’ fun run, plus moon bounces, laser tag, a rock-climbing wall, balloon animals, face painting and more. Proceeds support pediatric and maternal health care services for economically vulnerable women and their infants. $22.50-$45.

Arlington Turkey Trot

When: Nov. 28, 8 a.m.

Where: Christ Church of Arlington, 3020 N. Pershing Drive, Arlington

This annual 5K tradition, now in its 14th year, was a reader pick for Arlington Magazine’s Best Local Running Race in 2019. With upward of 4,000 registrants, you can expect plenty of company as you walk or run. $45 (adults); $25 (kids ages 6-17); free for kids 5 and under.
