Covid-19 has dealt a significant blow to the restaurant industry. According to a recent survey by the National Restaurant Association, nearly one in six restaurants nationwide have closed since the pandemic began.  Those that remain open are struggling to get by with reduced capacity, supply chain challenges and smaller staffs. The good news: You can help keep your favorite local establishments in business by doing something that isn’t hard to do. Mangia!

If you’ve already stress-binged all the Halloween candy and are craving more balanced sustenance, here’s your chance to support the kitchens you love and perhaps try something new. The second annual Arlington Restaurant Week organized by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce promises a host of enticing deals, with both on-site dining and carry-out options at more than 35 local eateries.

From Oct. 19-26, enjoy options galore, from Irish egg rolls (stuffed with corned beef, cabbage and Swiss cheese) to Uzbekistan’s national dish, plov (rice with lamb, carrots, chickpeas and spices) or Turkish manti (ravioli). The specials also include barbecue, doughnuts, mussels, tacos, sushi, wood-fired pizza, Spanish tapas and lots more.

Visit the Restaurant Week website for a complete list of participating restaurants and menu links.
