Heritage Brewing Co.

Where you’re sitting: This is more of a sidewalk patio than a true beer garden, but we won’t quibble. Clarendon’s newest taproom sports a handful of bar stools and barrels on its front stoop.

What you’re drinking: Strong ales with a patriotic theme—Freedom Isn’t Free IPA, Revolution Amber Ale, Sovereign Stout—many of them barrel-aged on site. If you need a pick-me-up, Heritage also roasts its own coffee, called Veritas, which tends to make its way into cocktails, as well.

A little something extra: Avocado toast, half-pound prime burgers, rotisserie wings and shepherd’s pie highlight a better-than-expected pub menu.
