Caboose Brewing Co.

Where you’re sitting: Runners and cyclists who frequent the Washington & Old Dominion Trail are already well familiar with this homegrown brewpub, which sits just west of the trail’s intersection with Maple Ave. in Vienna. The outdoor patio is dog-friendly (water bowls provided) but standing room only.

What you’re drinking: Caboose brews on the premises in the adjacent 15-barrel brewhouse, and its repertoire often brings some interesting surprises.  You’ll find options ranging from a refreshing farmhouse-style cucumber saison ale to a vanilla hobo stout with roasted coffee and molasses.  The menu inside offers sophisticated but affordable farm-to-table fare.

A little something extra: Rumor has it Caboose will be converting an old warehouse building into a second brewery in the Mosaic District.
